Employment Opportunity Staff Development Coordinator The Alberni-Clayoquot Continuing Care Society is an independent, non-profit organization operating two long-term care Homes (Fir Park Village &amp Echo Village) in Port Alberni, British Columbia. We are currently accepting applications for full-time Staff Development Coordinator. The Staff Development Coordinator: Provides leadership to the multidisciplinary team in the day-to-day operations of resident care and the Nursing Departments for Fir Park Village and Echo Village &ndash assisting the Directors of Care. Assists Nurses to coordinate and facilitate daily clinical activities, and effective use of resources. This includes the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of educational activities of the Departments. Supervise staff, provide leadership and functions as a role model and coach to assist staff with - professional development and achievement of resident care/home's quality initiatives. Contributes to the monitoring and development of clinical activities and provide leadership for quality and risk management activities. This career opportunity is a full-time position and you are a key member of the management team for two Homes serving 133 residents in the beautiful Alberni Valley of Vancouver Island! QUALIFICATIONS Completion of a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or an equivalent program from a recognized educational institution. Valid registration with the Registered Nurses' Association of British Columbia or equivalent registration in provincial professional regulatory organization as well as a minimum of three-five years recent and related experience in area of geriatric nursing, psychogeriatric/dementia care and/or a similar position in long term care.
